Budget 2023-24 Benazir Income Support Program BISP Fund raised to 400 Billion

Benazir Income Support Program BISP Fund has been increased from 350 billion to 400 billion for the financial year 2023-24. The budget was presented by Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar on Friday 9th June 2023.

In the BISP program about 9300000 families will receive BISP cash after every three months. The quarterly installment of Rs. 8750/- will be given to each family under BISP. The allocated budget in 2023-24 for this purpose by the government of Pakistan is Rs. 346 billion.

The fund for Benazir Educational Scholarship Program is increased from Rs. 6 million to Rs 8.3 million which will be very beneficial for the poor students to complete their studies and get quality education. A total of Rs 55 billion is allocated for this purpose. In this regard 92000 students will get an undergraduate Scholarship under BISP and an amount of 6 billion is allocated for this Purpose.

The Benazir Nashonuma Program will be continued in all districts of the country and the number of Children availing this program is increased to 1.5 million. A total of 32 billion funds are allocated for this.

The targeted subsidy on different food items will be provided to the deserving and poor people of the country. The food items on which subsidy will be provided include rice, Flour, ghee, oil, Sugar and different other items. A sum of 35 billion is allocated for this purpose.
